DR.MAHI MAHMOUD AL TEHEWY
Prof. Al-Tehewy is a physician working as Prof. of Public Health and Director of Healthcare Quality Unit at Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt. She has 27 years experience in training and researches and one of the pioneers in the field of training in quality management and its application in health facilities. Prof. Al-Tehewy has established healthcare quality unit at Ain Shams faculty of Medicine in 1999 aiming at training in the field of healthcare quality, providing consultation and technical assistance to health facilities, and participating in health service researches. At the national level, Prof. Al-Tehewy was the quality consultant for General Directorate of Quality, MOH and the coordinator of TQM training at the national institute of training, MOH. Hence, she prepared many training curricula on healthcare quality management. As assigned by MOH and endorsed by WHO/ EMRO, Prof. Al-Tehewy reviewed quality experience of Egypt up till present time and based on it she facilitated several workshops to prepared and finalize the national quality policy for Egypt and select and test feasibility of a set of hospital quality indicators. She has been invited in 2007 to join the national executive committee for Accreditation, which has been established recently in Egypt. At regional and international levels, Prof. Al-Tehewy is one of the quality advisors for WHO/EMRO and a member of WHO/ EMRO expert group on hospital accreditation program. She is also one of the founder of Arab League of Quality and the representative of Egypt. In addition, she has the honor to be the head of training committee of the Arab organization of Healthcare Accreditation. Therefore, she has been invited by MOH of Sudan to support their national accreditation program through reviewing their standards, preparing surveyor guide, and training a group of surveyors on surveying process. Prof. Al-Tehewy has the honor to be one of the reviewers for EMHJ. In addition, she was the principal investigator; co-investigator or consultant for number of researches in the field of epidemiology, health service researches and quality funded either by national or international agencies. She has a list of publication in local and international medical journals and was supervisors of many Master and Doctor Degrees theses some of them were deeply concerned with healthcare quality management. Finally, In addition to being certified as a national healthcare accreditation surveyor, Prof. Al-Tehewy in April 2005 has been awarded a certification of completion by Joint Commission Resources in recognition of participation in the international standards and survey process.


Dr. OLA GAMAL KHASHABA, MD, TQM, CPHQ
Dr. Ola is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) (since Dec.2004) and also a Consultant doctor specialized in Clinical and Chemical Pathology for over 20 years. She works as the Director of the Medical Records and Statistics Department, Cairo University Hospitals since 2006 and a Consultant of laboratory medicine, Abu-Elriche Children hospital. She participated in the management of many laboratories including Quality management, tenders and annual monthly purchasing orders. Since then her interest in quality was emphasized .She started her career in quality by studying for the “Diploma of total Quality Management in Healthcare” from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2003, after which she successfully passed the healthcare Quality Certification Board (HQCB, USA) exam in December 2004 and attained the International title of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

In addition, she attended several courses among which are: Statistical Process Control course; Data Base Management from the (AUC) and Advanced Microsoft –Certified Excel course. As a CPHQ she participated as a master trainer in several Quality-oriented courses and CPHQ Revision and Study courses in the AUC, and elsewhere. She is a member of several scientific societies. She presented several lectures in both National and International conferences in different subjects related to Quality.

Working under WHO authorities carrying many missions for deploying quality and patient safety cultures among healthcare providers in different countries in the Middle East, Educating through wide range of training courses hundreds of healthcare professional within the Middle East Countries about quality, safety, effective communication, data management and change management,Coaching and facilitating healthcare organizations, hospitals and primary healthcare centers, to prepare for JCI accreditation and different ISO certifications in KSA and Gulf Region, Establishment of patient safety culture survey software programs to measure and improve patient safety culture within healthcare facilities. Dr. Ahmed Al Harouny

Risk Manager and Deputy Director of TQM Department at King Fahd Hospital Jeddah, Quality consultant and advisory member of standards preparation team at Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), has Hospital Management Specialist, Hospital Management Diploma - AUC, Was a Quality Director at one private hospital and chairman of the Hospital Accreditation Steering Committee for CBAHI accreditation,Has many lectures and workshops in both languages in the field of Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Management in MOH hospitals, private hospitals and in the Training Affairs of MOH, Specialist Family Medicine, Egyptian Board of Family Medicine.

 

Dr. Mohamed Khalifa

MBBS, DHCM, MSc Health Informatics

Dr. Khalifa is a specialist in Healthcare Management and Health Informatics. He worked for the last 10 years in the field of implementation and training of hospitals' staff on Healthcare Management systems, Hospital Information Systems and Electronic Health Records in the area of the Middle East. Dr. Khalifa has been also teaching Healthcare Management and Health Informatics at different academies and institutes in the region and participating in most of the regional conferences that focus on the importance of Health Information Management for better Healthcare. Dr. Khalifa is a board member of the Egyptian Society of Healthcare Management Development and also a board member of the Saudi Arabian Health Information Management Club. Dr. Khalifa's main areas of research are EHR Development, Implementation and Evaluation, Clinical Decision Support Systems and Telemedicine.

 

Dr. Majed Magrabi

Dr. Maged Maghrabi is a certified Health Care Risk Manager, Florida University, USA 2007,

he is a Clinical Toxicologist /Cardiologist since more than 22 years, he works as a senior staff member of Poison Control Centre (PCC), Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, since his graduation and still affiliated to the center up till now.Currently he is holding responsibilities of healthcare risk management, since 2005 as a Risk Manager then a Risk Management Department Director, beside his clinical responsibilities as Clinical Toxicologist managing all age groups, both acute and chronic intoxicated cases at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH), Jeddah, KSA,Deeply experienced in national and international accreditation and reaccreditation programs for Quality, Patient safety, Risk Management, Safety and Environment (MRQP, CBAHI, JCI, ACHSI and ISO 18000/OSAS 14001), Earlier than risk management, he gains intense hospital administrative  experience as he held several administrative posts healthcare wide as Emergency Department Director, Out and Inpatient Medical Director, Company affairs and insurance /Claim Management Director at DSFH, Jeddah, KSA, He is also American University in Cairo (AUC) Instructor for Healthcare Risk Management, joins logistics for consultation and development as team member since 2008.

Dr. Aliah currently working as Associate Consultant General Surgery and Quality Improvement Director in KAAH&OC she is also a Medical Consultant, Hospital Accreditation Specialist (HAS) and Surveyor for (CBAHI), she work in collaboration with the Health Affair directorate in Jeddah in the Supporting supervising Quality program SSQP, to support MOH hospitals in achieving accreditations .she is a Member of the Evidence Based Medicine EBM – Jeddah gp

 

 

Dr. Zakaria Abdel Hamid

M.D.TQM, MSc.

TQM, MSc.Since 2004, focused on Healthcare Quality Management in hospitals. Great experience in Performance Improvement using Six Sigma tools, developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Risk Management, Data collection plan, Utilization Management, improving Patient/Customer Satisfaction and Patient Safety, while involving teams from the facility, including physicians, nurses and administrative staff. Have extensive experience with the survey process, especially with the Joint Commission International (JCIA) standards and tracer methodology. Have experience with health care service as im anesthesia specialist, Certified Surveyor of the Ministry of Health hospitals.Quality consultant for hospitals preparing for accreditation, 4 years experience as Anesthesia Specialist & 3 years Anestheia Resident, Experienced in using SPSS program & experienced in using Sigma XL program for doing control charts & quality tools.

 

 

Mr. Mohamed Shawky

Mr. Mohamed Hossam El Din is a Certified Professional for Healthcare Quality / National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ),

Quality Management Specialist certified at American University in Cairo. He is a Microbiologist. He works as an instructor in American University in Cairo (AUC) – Jeddah Branch. He is the head of Accreditation and Training Unit at King Saud Medical City – Riyadh, member of the Hospital Accreditation Steering Committee for JCI accreditation, Advisory Member for the Governing and Senior Management board for improving the managerial processes and enforcing the JCI standards implementation. He was a Quality Improvement Advisor at King Fahd Hospital – Jeddah. He is a professional trainer for healthcare providers and health administrator conducting lectures and workshops in the field of Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety, Accreditation and Risk Management. He works as an instructor for Quality Professionals preparing for CPHQ exam and as a consultant for CBAHI and JCI Standards implementation at private and MOH hospitals.

 

Dr. Ghada Ganzouri

She has 25 years of a profound experience in the area of marketing and healthcare management consultancy.  She works as associate professor at the AUC and the Head of business Development office and a Board Member of Ganzouri Specialized Hospital.   She also works as an independent Healthcare marketing consultant. She has a Ph.D. in healthcare Management.   She has a joint master in Health Administration from Yale and Business Administration from the (American University in Cairo) A.U.C.   She is initially a science graduate, electronics from the A.U.C. She has a profound experience in the professional work as a marketing expert in the healthcare and medical tourism field working for both the private and governmental sectors. She was appointed as a speaker in many national and international conferences of medical tourism.   She has worked as a marketing consultant for the U.S AID and the Minister of Health. She has   a great interest in the social and NGO’s activities.  She is considered as one of the main founders and a Board member of the Union of the Private Healthcare Providers of Egypt  and is the head of  the its scientific office .  She is also part of the group setting the main structure for medical tourism in Egypt.  Finally, she is a member of a group of societies and organizations, such as the Rotary, and American Marketing Association, and others.

 

Dr. Islam Abouyoussef

MB.BCh – MSc Orth – TQMD.

Dr Abouyoussef has extensive experience in the field of quality management and patient safety (since 2003). He started his career in Dar Al Fouad hospital in Egypt (JCI accredited 3 times) and he expanded his experience in other healthcare organizations in Egypt and some other hospitals in the Middle East. He has experience with standards compliance (JCI – Egyptian Standards – Arab Standards – CBAHI – and others), also he has great experience in patient safety and risk management strategies as well as performance improvement, utilization management, developing performance indicators and survey process of different accrediting bodies. Dr Abouyoussef shared in many conferences on quality and patient safety as attendant and as speaker. Currently He is working as a Quality Consultant for some healthcare organizations. Dr Abouyoussef also is specialist of Orthopedics and Spinal Surgery and he is member of some local and international societies in this clinical field (EOA – SICOT – AO Spine).
